The Gaelforce 24hr Cycle Challenge team are delighted to announce that Barretstown are the charity partners for the 2010 event.

At Barretstown, we believe that every child with serious illness should enjoy their childhood. Our mission is to rebuild lives affected by childhood cancer and other serious illnesses through a life changing Therapeutic Recreation programme in a safe, fun and supportive environment.

Set in a castle in the Wicklow hills, we were founded in 1994 by Hollywood Legend Paul Newman. In 16 years over 18,000 children and family members have come to Barretstown to take part in our residential programme.

Here is a quote from one of our campers:-

“Thank you for letting me experience some serious fun and the magic of Barretstown.. Coming to Barretstown gave me back the confidence and self esteem I had lost. It also helped me learn that I can achieve anything I want to and my disability doesn’t change that.”
