Directions & Travel

The registration, start/finish line and after party will all be held Killary Adventure Centre.

Killary Adventure is situated on Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord, in Connemara on the scenic Irish West Coast in Co. Galway. The nearest village is Leenane, and the centre is located on the Clifden road about half-way between Clifden and Westport on the N59.

Galway city - Approx. an hour and 10min drive

If you are driving from Galway follow the signs for the N59 "Clifden" and after passing through the villages of Moycullen and Oughterard you will arrive at Maam Cross (easily distinguished by the Peacock's hotel complex on your right). At this crossroad turn right following the signs for "Leenaun". At the next T-junction at Keane's Pub, turn left. This road will bring you into the village of Leenane where you keep left and after another 3.5 miles with the Killary Fjord on your right you will see the sign for Killary Adventure Co.

Westport - Approx. 35 min drive

If you are driving from Westport once in Westport look for the Leenane road and it is straight all the way. Once in Leenane continue out the Clifden road (N59) keeping the Killary Fjord on your right and we are 3.5 miles on the left hand side.

We can be reached by train to Westport or Galway and bus/taxi from there. Check out www.irishrail.ie.

Westport is approximately a 35 min drive from Killary Adventure and Galway is approximately an hour and 10 min drive.

Make sure to contact Irish rail about the carriage of your bike.

There is a daily public bus transfer from Galway city during the summer (end of June to end of August) and on a Tuesday and Saturday during the winter time table. Check bus timetables on www.buseireann.ie.

City link buses also run buses to Clifden each day from Galway. You can take this bus to Maam Cross or Letterfrack and get a taxi to Killary adventure. Maam Cross is approximately 30mins drive from Killary and Letterfrack is 15 mins. If you purchases tickets in advance you may be able to get your ticket for €1. Galway Airport

Galway has a number of flights each day. These include Edinburgh, London Luton and Manchester. For full details on flights check out galwayairport.com.

The airport is approximately an hour and 20min drive. You can hire a car at the airport here.

Ireland West (Knock) Airport

Ireland West has a huge number of flights to the UK - East Midlands, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, London ( Luton, Stansted & Gatwick) Bristol. Check out full details at www.irelandwestairport.com.

The airport is approximately an hour and 30mins to Killary and you can hire a car here.
