Beginner Training Days

Training Days for Beginners

So you know you want to change aspects of your life but have no idea how to start.
You might feel you want to loose weight or simply want a completely new challenge in life but are not sure how to go about it.

It can be difficult to maintain a training regime without a purpose or a goal. That is why adventure races work so well at changing your lifestyle as once you are signed up for one, you will find it gives you that extra push to put the trainers on when the couch is calling.

Adventure racing is becoming one of the fastest growing sports for a reason. Adventure races give us a chance to challenge mother nature, ourselves and if the mood takes us fellow competitors. Yes it will take you out of your comfort zone but in an incredibly positive way. Whilst sometimes work and life does not let us succeed as we would like, racing means you win even if you come 1st or last, as crossing the line is a moment of pure triumph.

So where to start?

Well the main thing to understand is that these training days are designed specifically for you. We have purposely divided it in to sections so that when you arrive on Saturday morning you will be surrounded with people just as apprehensive and as unfit as you! Also whist your instructors are absolutely top level they have worked with us for years and completely understand the fact that you have no idea what you are doing and that your fitness may be completely non existent.

The course is designed to start at the very beginning. They will talk you through everything you need to know and will then very gently introduce you to all the different disciplines. Cross country/mountain running, on road/off road cycling and kayaking.

It will also take away a lot of the uncertainty that can surround adventure races, our instructors will not only train you but will be able to answer all your questions, on the best gear (best value for money) the best bikes etc. They will be able to let you know what to expect on the day, what you should eat and drink coming up tp the race and on the day of the race.

This is also intended to be a social event, as there is nothing better than meeting like minded individuals who have a common goal. Once the training groups are established and our training is over we hope to develop a community in Dublin that will continue on by themselves and make training as much fun as it should be. Read some of our past participants testimonies.

We are running training days once a month for beginners, this will increase depending on demand. Check out the dates available here.
