Intermediate Training Days
Training Days Intermediate
So you have been training for a while now and running the same routes and doing the same old routines in the gym and wondering when will it ever end. Well clearly the sad news it will never end! You need to train for the rest of your life to stay fit and healthy but the good news is its time to make it interesting!!
Exercise is a wonderful thing, it makes us feel and look wonderful, it maintains our weight and it gives us energy and confidence.
However training can be repetitive and also difficult to maintain. Running over the same terrains, looking into the gym mirror and wondering if its possible to fall asleep running on a tread mill, well its all about to change.
The solution is to sign yourself up for an Adventure Race.
Adventure Racing is the perfect antidote to training ennui.
Lining up at the start of a race the size of Gaelforce West (3,000 competitors) is a unique and wonderful experience. Crossing the finish line regardless of where you come is a moment of pure triumph that will stay with you for life.
It will give you a completely new reason to train. There will now be a goal in sight, something to strive towards.
Our training days will show you how to do this and provide enough insight to be able to continue and progress well after the course has ended
We have designed these training days specifically for those of you that are relatively fit (able to run a slow 10km, or cycle a slow 20km with out it taking too much out of you) but new to the Adventure Racing scene.
Our top level instructors will gently introduce the different disciplines of running across mountainous terrain, cycling on and off road and kayaking.
It will also take away a lot of the uncertainty that can surround adventure races, our instructors will not only train you but will be able to answer all your questions, on the best gear (best value for money) the best bikes etc. They will be able to let you know what to expect on the day, what you should eat and drink coming up to the race and on the day of the race.
This is also intended also to be a social event, as there is nothing better than meeting like minded individuals who have a common goal. Once the training groups are established and our training is over we hope to develop a community in Dublin that will continue on by themselves and make training as much fun as it should be. Read some of our past participants testimonies.
We will be running one intermediatary training day a month which will increase with demand. Check out the dates available here.
