Beginners: Beginners to adventure racing should have some level of fitness before they come – be able to complete 8km slow run or brisk walk – plus cycling ability

Intermediate : Improvers should be comfortable in running 10k at a medium pace.

Kayak training will be provided for all levels during the training week.

Saturday 2nd June
Arrival in resort – with forest hike and archery to lure you in gently!

Sunday 3rd June

Trail Run & Cycle

Dorfgastein Mountain Trails 8-10k Induction Run

Followed by afternoon cycle 20kms

Monday 4th June

Hillwalk –
Ascend to 1800m ( by lift) – and summit the Schuhfliker – 400m ascent – 10km mountain trail then work on downhill fast working/running/ skills needed for adventure racing, followed by 20k cycling – mountain trail.

Tuesday 5th June

Trail Run /Kayak
Ascend to 1075m (by lift) in Bad Hofgastein – and experience an amazing Top of the World 5km trail followed by kayaking in flat water to work on basic skills.

Wednesday 6th June

 Kayak/Cycle
Experience white water kayaking or rafting, followed by cycle road/forest climb and downhill single trails – 20kms off road.

Thursday 7th June

Spa/Mountain Run
Free day to make best use of the Alpentherme Spa in Bad Hofgastein optional high alpine mountain run in the afternoon 10kms beginners/15kms Int.

Friday 8th June

Race Day/Spa/Party Time
Fun race, with 10km run, 500m kayak and 15km cycle.
Spa afternoon
AND Party Time!

Bad Hofgastein is located in the Gastein Valley in Austria and is Austria’s key fitness Destination for its unique combination of outdoor summer activities combined with its thermal spas and healing caves which give a whole new meaning to wellbeing. The Valley itself is located in the Hohe Tauern National Park – of which over 95 sq.kms are in Gastein. There are over 350kms of marked hiking biking, and running trails within the valley, all trackable by GPS.
