Gaelforce West is the largest one day adventure race of its kind in the world. The 2010 event takes place on Saturday August 21st. This year we are delighted to announce that Killary Adventure Co. will be running Gaelforce West and all other Gaelforce Events.
It is a multi-sport adventure race involving cycling, running, hiking and kayaking. The course of approximately 65km stretches from the stunning Glassilaun beach to Westport. En route there are some significant obstacles to cross, including Killary Harbour and the famous holy mountain of Croagh Patrick. The event is designed for solo competitors, but you can run it with a buddy or training partner. Due to logistics we do not allow relay teams.
Choosing which bike to use is an important strategic decision, the choice is yours but here is our advice.

We have included all of the relevant information you need to know to compete in Gaelforce West 2010 within this site. Please read everything carefully so there are no surprises on the day. You can also visit our forum if you have any questions and to share your knowledge with other adventurers.
It is important to note that you will get wet and dirty; you are running through bogs, along mountain paths and even up a mountain! You are cycling along small country roads, a dirt track and on a small section of the N59. This is not a triathlon, a marathon or a fun run it is an adventure race. It will test you both physically and mentally but the elation you will feel at the end when you cross the finish line will make it all worth it!

The prices for Gaelforce West 2010 are as follows; there is an early bird price of €85pp up until the end of April, then there is a late comers price of €95pp from the start of May until registration closes.
